New research on Vibrators

Slimline Rabbit VibratorWho uses sex toys? Are you one of those people who think it’s a little bit naughty, something you would like to try but aren’t too sure about?

Previous data collected on the use of vibrators tends to come from sex toy manufacturers or ladies magazine polls or surveys from somebody looking for data from some sort of marketing angle. Its hard to trust these far from impartial surveys. Which is why we are in luck, researchers from Indiana University (Reece, M., Herbenick, D., Sanders, S.A., et. al.) have led some research about vibrator use, one researcher is slightly biased as he works for Trojan but this is about as impartial research as it gets. The research was published in a scientific journal (Journal of sexual Medicine) and the study involved 3000 people in a representative sample of the US.

The results may seem surprising to some as 52% of women and 45% of men report having used a vibrator which is a lot higher than found in other surveys. Women mostly used vibrators for masturbation and least during intercourse on the other hand 40% of men liked to use vibrators during foreplay with a partner and only 7% used it to make themselves orgasm.
The survey found people who used vibrators found it reduced problems with sexual function such as lubrication and orgasm and people who used them frequently had fewer problems.

Those who used vibrators seems quite self aware and had a better awareness of sexual health including having exams and taking part in self-examination, this was true for both men and women. This means that the majority of people do keep their vibrators clean washing them before or after use however 20% of men and 14% of women report never cleaning sex toys so there is some room for sexual health improvements.

It seems vibrators don’t cause many physical problems either. 71.5% of women have never experienced side effects. Some side effects can be numbness reported by 16% but very few people experience pain or swelling.

So with almost half of men and women in the US claiming to have tried a vibrator, who knows what the figures are like in the UK, why not buy your first vibrator today and become part of the statistics. If half of the population in the UK have tried it you might be missing out.

Thanks, we do try to make this blog informative and helpful.

We cover what many consider somewhat taboo subjects, so we aim to let people find information, ask questions and discuss things as best they can.

No I didn't write that blog, my "partner in crime" did. And in final answer, yes! Very, very good - but I'll never know, lol!

what a fantastic reply, enthusiastic, witty, friendly, bravo! did you write the post on making your sex life more interesting, sounds like the same person, again well done? valid comment and i see your point but those you can give you views on, you should. of course we cant know if you are just trying to sell it to us, but we can take what you say and make an informed decision there. There are some genuinely good posts on this blog and it reaches out to areas thet people often fear to tread and that is what got my attention I was just hoping it wasnt another pointless marketing spin. im beginning to feel those writing are a lot more human, keep it up. oh and im sure your partner in crime would look good in lingerie if you are wishing that hard

As said, and for obvious reasons, TMO have a male and femal blogger on the case (i'm the male, HI!)

The problem is as you have stated we do represent turn me on, so we try our best to post intesting and intriguing articles but aim to keep them fairly general.

Now we can recommend our favourite sex toys or lingerie to you, but there is no way for you to know we are saying it as we genuinely like them? Or are we just saying buy this from us. Hence trying to give you independant reviews, but if you don't mind we will give our thumbs up or down where we feel it appropriate.

The other issue is we honestly don't get chance to use them all. Now that would be fun for sure, but wouldn't leave much time for work. Also not everything we stock if someting we blog about is something we enjoy on a personal level, but many others do, and they want information on it, hence we do what we can.

For example, being a guy I cant really give my verdict on lingerie (fit, look, support, etc)...unless my blogging partner in crime agrees to model for me (if only!), but we do aim to keep readers happy.

If you have any topics you think we should cover, or want to write something yourself, please let us know. Thanks for the input.

There are actually a few of us both male and female depending on the post. We tend to use the blog to write sex toy related articles or look at the functions of the products rather than a full review, we leave this to customers who can submit their reviews for entry into a £60 voucher draw each month. If you are looking for an in depth review blog, take a look at http://sextoysbuzz.com/

So are there any particular ones you recomend then? Have you actually tried ony of these yourself? Are you male or female? Bit of a personal persepctive wouldn't hurt for the readers. Not asking for personal specifics just what is so good about them and why should we buy them and why you like them, if you have tried them readers should know what sex you are purely so they know what persective it comes from(be we male or female and i see no issue with either trying these out).
